Treatment Option Plan Reports:
Periodontal Risk and Disease Analysis

Click on the links below to view basic samples of the two types of Treatment Option Plan formats available to Summarise the results of a Periodontal Disease Risk Assessment:

Patient Report: Periodontal Risk and Disease Analysis (page 1)
Patient Report: Periodontal Risk and Disease Analysis (page 2)

Clinical Report: Periodontal Risk and Disease Analysis (page 1)
Clinical Report: Periodontal Risk and Disease Analysis (page 2)

We will review the components included in each of these two report formats for a Perio Risk Assessment below.

Periodontal Risk and Disease Analysis Reports:

Under the heading section, the following main sections appear, each displaying the specific relevant data entered for that Risk Assessment. (Content differs depending on whether it is in Clinical or Patient report format, but each report will contain two main sections: the Risk Analysis and the Treatment Option Plan, with a page break between.)

Risk Score and Disease State section: This area lists the two numeric scores for risk and disease state for Periodontal Disease. These two scores appear on the Patient Details screen listed for each assessment in that patient's history, abbreviated as PR (Perio Risk) and D (Perio Disease state). See Risk Scores in the Appendix for definitions.

For Patient Reports: The Perio Risk Score and Disease State appear both numerically and marked on colour-coded bar graphs, and a graphic arrow marks the patient's current Disease State on an illustrated graph showing the disease progression from Health to Tooth Loss. If this is not the patient's first Perio risk assessment, a "What Changed?" chart tracks and compares the scores from any previous Perio Risk Assessments, and a chart marking the current point of disease progression.

Following the graph section is a table comparing Characteristics of Health and Low Risk with the Patient's corresponding characteristics for each, along with an analysis explaining the implications to the Patient's health, the consequences of not repairing the condition, or a commendation for good care if the condition is positive.

For Clinical Reports: The Patient data you entered is documented here, indicating the patient's oral habits, clinical conditions, and a general assessment of oral health and any treatments performed since the last risk assessment. colour-coded tooth diagrams indicate the perio measurements from that Risk Assessment (pocket depths and radiographic bone height from the CEJ). For patients with previous risk assessments, their history of risk scores is shown.

Treatment Option Plan Section: Two main headings here include Active Intervention and Prevention and Maintenance.

Subheadings: Subheadings for these two types of Treatments include the following (note there is a difference between clinical and patient-friendly terms): Treatments Options for various Pocket Depths of >7, 5-7mm, and <5mm; Cave-like bone erosion (Furcations); Vertical bone erosion (Vertical Bone Lesions); Fillings below the gumline (Subgingival Restorations); Tartar (Subgingival calculus); Visit the Dentist (recommended frequency).

Under each of the subheadings above are relevant and appropriate recommended treatments from the Treatment Option Library, depending on the patient's Perio risk score and disease state.

For More Information: On Patient Reports, if you have selected this setting on the Options or Report Settings pages, a section appears with references to the free online resources available at the web address you entered on the Options page for Oral Health Topics.

The library of Treatment Options, condition descriptions, health and risk analysis sections are authored and maintained by PreViser clinical experts. The completed report includes a stack-ranked list of optional treatments targeted to be appropriate for the individual's risk and oral health state.

Where appropriate, each of the treatment options have colour-coded icons for easy visual reference:

green = Generally Most Effective
yellow = May Be Effective
red = Less Likely to Be Effective

A * indicates the procedure is used in special circumstances.

Treatments included in this library match the Treatments Performed screen in the data entry process of a Risk Assessment. For definitions of specific terms and treatments referred to in a Treatment Option Plan, you may wish to refer to the resources in the Appendix section.
