Risk Assessment Concept and PreViser Background

Background Summary:

The principal focus of Medicine and Dentistry today is the attempt to manage disease once it has begun to progress. The need to shift this focus from treatment to prevention is driven by the compelling economics of medical cost inflation. However, to implement a wellness model of health care that improves patient outcomes while significantly reducing costs, four elements are required:

1. First, there must be an effective way to assess disease risk before it occurs, or disease state before it becomes chronic and must be repaired.

2. Second, standardised and validated treatment protocols for disease must exist so that the quality of care is consistent across patient populations and inappropriate care is eliminated.

3. Third, there must be a mechanism that allows the monitoring and quantification of those standardised treatment protocols so that they can be continually improved and refined.

4. Fourth, the individual patient must become proactive in the adoption of a prevention plan that addresses the specific conditions of his or her health.

PreViser has developed a highly effective analytic toolset that meets these criteria by allowing a Practitioner to simply and accurately quantify the future risk and current state of various diseases for an individual, and to respond to that risk assessment with a tailored preventative therapeutic plan that can be monitored for success.

PreViser believes that the broad application of its informatics technology will annually save billions in avoidable health care costs and dramatically improve life quality for millions of patients.

U.S. patents consisting of over 50 separate claims for the technology have been approved for issuance. The patents are extremely broad in their scope and are applicable to the accurate individual risk quantification of any disease where the general risk factors have been identified. The technology combines the assessment of current disease state with future disease risk potential, prepares an individualized prevention and treatment plan based on this analysis, and then self corrects treatment recommendations over time in response to measured individualized risk and disease reduction outcomes.

Technological Implementation:

PreViser’s approved and pending patents are based on proprietary algorithms that associate risks to outcomes. The application is based on predictive statistical analysis of the relationship between general known risk and outcome. It also involves a self-correcting system of continual refinement of recommended treatments based on the quantification of the relationship between those recommendations and actual results.

Access to PreViser’s product lines is web based, utilising standard Microsoft platform components which ensure scalability and compatibility with the widest potential base of users.

Security procedures are extensive, with all patients information protected behind redundant firewalls.

Information required by the RiskCalculator™ will be provided to PreViser through an office based client side Internet connected computer where the examination information is entered into a screen template, and then burst transmitted via dial up to PreViser servers for risk calculation and the preparation of the Decision Enhancer™.
